I agree, the NHL avoided quite the storm of controversy with that one save. Officials all too often insert themselves into storylines. Just look to the perfect game Armando Galarraga lost when Jim Joyce blew that call in 2010, his career has never recovered. If it was soccer (outside the US) that umpire might not have made it out alive.

I’m glad Lundquist made that save on the penalty shot. I hate when the refs make any type of difference in any sport but especially in hockey, soccer and baseball, where goals/runs are hard to come by as it is.

>Like you, I do not like either team. I think the refs show way too much favoritism to both Durant and Westbrook. Pretty much every touch Westbrook has, he could be called for an offensive foul; and the way he talks to refs should not be tolerated. He has no respect for the game. That being said,good basketball is good basketball. With the Lakers having been eliminated, I fear many people will lose interest in the playoffs, specifically in the Western Conference. This is unfortunate, small market teams just don't get the love,respect or exposure they deserve; even when they produce a competative and exciting product.
